In addition to our well-received initial rater training course, we offer a short course for those assessors tasked with deciding whether a pilot or ATC should be awarded Expert Level 6 in the ICAO language proficiency scale.
There is a mixture of online group discussion sessions (over 2 consecutive days on Zoom or similar) and self-access reading and listening activities which you can access before the group sessions (2 modules, each containing 2 hours of material). The aim is to present you with 5 key questions to ask about a candidate’s performance in order to determine whether the candidate can safely be awarded ICAO Level 6.
Full details can be found here, including a summary of the course outline. In summary:
Module 1 (Online Self-Access): Introduction to the ICAO Language Proficiency Requirements
Module 2 (Online Self-Access): Example Application of the 5 Key Questions to Full Test Samples
Module 3 (Online Group): Guided Application of the 5 Key Questions to Short Test Samples
Module 4 (Online Group): Independent Practice Application of the 5 Key Questions to Full Test Samples
Certification Task (Online Self-Access): Assessment of 3 performances.
